Our Fall Newsletter is here! After a year’s closure due to Covid, our beautiful Park is once again filled with visitors from near and far – soaking up the sun on the 9-acre lawn, launching tubes, canoes, and kayaks for a lazy afternoon float down the famous Batten Kill or enjoying sparkling evening events surrounded by the beautiful gardens. Georgi On The Battenkill – the USA
The Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council and Humanities, NY have provided funding supporting the Georgi’s upcoming 30th Anniversary Celebration and Exhibit “Glory Days: An Era of Industry on the Battenkill”. LARAC has provided $1,600 and Humanities, NY has provided $500 in support of the Georgi Museum and the new exhibit.
In support of the Georgi’s Events in the Community Park on July 30th with the Mettawee River Theater Company and August 1st for the Washington county Band and Salem Rotary Ice Cream Social, Stewart’s Shops granted the Georgi $750 as well as providing Ice Cream to the Salem Rotary.
In partnership with the Battenkill Conservancy and the Hudson River Valley Greenway, the Georgi has received grant funding for improved signage on the roadways and in the Park. A large Battenkill Corridor sign will be installed in the Spring guiding traffic coming over the Shushan Bridge. Small wayfaring signs will be placed along the County Roads as well. A park map will be mounted on the Kiosk near the parking area to guide visitors around the facility.
