About the Georgi on the Battenkill

The Georgi on the Battenkill Community Park and Museum is nestled along the river in Shushan, NY, just west of the Vermont Border. The Battenkill wraps around the property, surrounding the lush lawns and beautiful gardens.

The Community Park hosts many public events as well as private affairs and weddings. The Mettawee River Theater Company, Hubbard Hall, and Washington County Band bring annual performances.

The Georgi Museum houses a collection of Gems and Minerals, Medieval Panel Paintings, Asian screens and objects, along with many other items. Upon completion of renovations, the Museum will host its Grand Re-Opening on October 7, 2017.

The Community Room is ideal for meetings and events.  It is often used to host small performances like “Caffe Lena on the Battenkill”, family gatherings, birthday parties and exhibits.

The Georgi is a New York State Fishing Access Point, and fly fisherman are often seen wading and casting.  It is a convenient place to enter the Battenkill on tubes or in canoes.
