Welcome to The Georgi Museum & Park Center

The Museum & Collection

The Georgi Museum is home to Medieval and Renaissance Italian Panel Paintings as well as the Georgi Mineral Collection.

The Park

The Georgi on the Battenkill Community Park and Museum is nestled along the river in Shushan, NY, just west of the Vermont Border.

The Facilities

The Georgi boasts 9 acres of lush lawns, gorgeous gardens, and a row of 60+ year old Hydrangea trees. It is nestled against the famous Battenkill.

The Battenkill

The Batten Kill, Battenkill, or Battenkill River is a 59.4-mile-long (95.6 km) river rising in Vermont that flows into New York and is a tributary of the Hudson River.

The Museum is open Saturday 10-1 June through October. The Community Park is open from Dawn to Dusk daily. The Georgi’s 60+ year old Hydrangea trees flower in mid-August, with cascading pink and white blooms. The Gardens are an ever-shifting showcase of blooms, and a variety of trees, including Oak, Chinese Chestnut, Apple, Basswood and Elm, provide shade on summer days.

Park Rules:

  • Pets must be leashed, please clean up after your pets with provided Pet Bags
  • No Alcohol is allowed on the property
  • This is a  Carry in / Carry out facility – please be considerate of others and take all garbage home
  • No Camping/No Overnight Parking – the Park closes at dusk
  • No Campfires/No Grilling/No Smoking due to fire hazard
